Cambodians Karate Fighters Win Two Medals at Asian Championship

PHNOM PENH: Two Cambodian woman who competes on karate have won two bronze medals at the 17th Asian Karate Championship Seniors 2021 in the city of Almaty, in Kazakhstan.

The event lasted for four days from 19 to 22 December and had the participation of athletes from 45 different countries across Asia, including the Cambodian national karate team.

After two days of competition, the Cambodian athletes have won two medals, including Lim Sok Vicheka winning a bronze medal in the women under 59kg category and Chhorn Srey Phea, winning a bronze medal for the U21 women's under-55kg event.

Lim Sok Vicheka expressed her happiness after winning the bronze medal, as this is the first time she has participated in the Asian Championship. She said she is very happy even I she didn’t win a gold medal, since this is the first time she have come out to the Asian Championships winning a bronze medal. Lim has added this is a good result after going through four tough matches.

Some athletes of the Cambodian national karate team have finished their competition, while some other will continue to compete on the 21 and 22 of this month, for the hopes of bringing more medals for the nation.
